Playhouse Philosophy

Children are individuals with unique talents, capabilities and aspirations. These qualities shall be nurtured, in order for your child to flourish in his/her development. Children who have known respect will value themselves and others. We hope to facilitate this by providing a stimulating, healthy environment. If the learning process is accentuated with enjoyment, children will thrive.

Children are creative. Their social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth is enhanced through the use of stimulating activities. Our program utilizes creativity with the children’s interest in mind to satisfy their desire to explore and to promote discovery.

We recognize that children experience life at their own pace. At Playhouse, we support these learning experiences, by challenging their own interests, talents and abilities. Our environment promotes each child’s sense of autonomy, by providing choices to the child. Our philosophy of discipline promotes each child’s sense of self control while allowing a child choices, to encourage the child to become more self-directed and consequently acquire greater self-esteem.

At Playhouse, each child’s individuality is recognized and respected for his/her uniqueness. The program plans promote racial and ethno-cultural, diversity. Children’s abilities, interests, cultural and religious holidays and events are recognized.  If children are respected, they will be confident enough to develop their own potential. Therefore, children will be encouraged to face new experiences and to accept that it is not the success or the failure that is important but the growing process that occurs because of it.

At Playhouse, we strive to create a supportive family atmosphere in which the program is an extension of the home. During the early childhood years it is essential to establish a positive relationship between home and Playhouse. We believe that parents and staff must work together in order to meet all the needs of the children.
